Xylem Designs was founded in 2009 by Steve Deal, an experienced landscape professional with over two decades of expertise in the field. Steve’s journey in landscaping began in 2000 and has since evolved into a passion for sustainable design and environmental stewardship. He holds a master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Minnesota, which laid the foundation for his career in landscape design.
Steve’s first role out of graduate school was with Metro Blooms, where he consulted on and designed rain gardens across the Twin Cities metro area. His work with stormwater management and sustainable landscaping became the cornerstone of his approach to design.
Xylem Designs emerged through a collaboration with several Minnesota Conservation Districts, contributing to their rain garden and shoreline buffer/restoration programs. This partnership helped lay the groundwork for the company’s mission of creating beautiful, functional, and eco-friendly landscapes.
Today, Xylem Designs is a full-service landscaping business that proudly serves the Twin Cities metropolitan area. From sustainable landscape design to installation and maintenance, we continue to focus on environmentally responsible solutions, ensuring that every project enhances both the beauty and health of the spaces we create.
